Tis The Season To Rethink Your Christmas Colors

Is your holiday decor looking a little ho ho ho-hum? Are you ready to think outside of the red- and green-wrapped box? Been there, done that, right? So this year I’m decking my halls a little differently. (Think outside the box at CherylStyle.com)

First, it’s important to understand that you don’t have to completely rid yourself of traditional colors and start over from scratch. Instead, why not dig a little deeper into the Crayola box and try a deep pomegranate red or a bold chartreuse green? And remember, your colors don’t have to match perfectly—simply try to stick with a complementary color scheme.

Now, if you’re ready to step a little further out onto the rainbow, you can also mix in several versions of the season’s hottest color: purple. But this isn’t any old purple—instead try a jammy plumb or a floral lavender. And don’t be afraid to add bold splashes of color such as mustard yellows, vibrant greens and even metallics like silver and gold. After all, nothing says home for the holidays like the festive glow of a fireplace reflecting off of some sparkly accent pieces.
