Plan a Bang Up Fourth of July Barbecue

Looking for a fun Fourth of July barbecue with a twist? Look no further than 'Oh Say Can You SEE.' A takeoff on our national anthem, this celebration keeps an annual tradition from getting stale by envisioning a whole new way to celebrate the Fourth.

This party theme is all about seeing-and glasses! Set the stage for fun with a pair of kooky red, white and blue glasses affixed to an invitation that reads, "Oh Say Can You SEE … your way to our house for an eye-popping Fourth of July bash!"

Let creative freedom ring loud and clear with an outdoor buffet table that features an 'eye chart' table runner, zany eyeglasses, magnifying glasses and binoculars. Add clear glass globe centerpieces filled with blueberries, red jellybeans and white popcorn (or fillers of your choice). And offer a 'C-Food' buffet: carrots, chicken, corn and cobbler. Top it all off with homemade lemonade served in clean, reused soda bottles. 'Oh Say Can You SEE' party activities could include some fun with sparklers and laugh-a-minute relay races with everyone sporting goofy goggles.

This Fourth, declare your independence from the same 'ole, same 'ole and give the 'Oh Say Can You SEE' party a try. Seeing is believing! See more fabulous summer entertaining ideas.
