Just about everyone loves roses. Maybe it’s because they’re one of the most enduring symbols of love and appreciation worldwide—especially on Valentine’s Day when roses are the de rigueur gift for that special someone. Most people buy red and pink roses for Valentine’s Day, but I like to buy white ones because they’re a lot less expensive! This little-known secret is something you can take advantage of, too. Of course, roses come in a lot of other color options, and each has a specific meaning:

Romantic Reds—the traditional symbol for love and romance

Polished Pinks—a symbol of grace and elegance, often given as an expression of admiration

You ‘N Me Yellows—a symbol for joy and friendship because their sunny color evokes a feeling of warmth and happiness

Winsome Whites—a symbol of honor and reverence, innocence and purity

Opulent Oranges—a symbol of passion, excitement and fervent romance (JJ’s favorite!)

Lovely Lavenders—a symbol of enchantment, often used to express feelings of love at first sight

Whatever color you choose, roses create a whole bunch of excitement for the recipient. Give a bouquet to someone special and watch him or her bloom!
